We offer a career in a forward-looking industrial research team with a solid track record in innovation and publication, delivering its results as factual contributions to on-the-market devices.Job DescriptionWe are now looking for an AI Battery Simulation Engineer to join our Helsinki Hardware and System Lab.ResponsibilitiesDeveloping codes for battery simulation models (electrochemical, thermal, mechanical, abuse) in connection with data driven models (lab test data, field data), to solve for example SoH prediction, knee-point aging prediction, considering also unique characteristics of silicon / graphite anodes.Extending battery life involves charging and using optimization, which involves electrochemical models and machine learning.Track the academic frontiers and research trends of data-driven battery prediction technologies in Europe, and help Huawei maintain long-term and good cooperation relationships with universities.At least 5 years’ experience in battery mechanism / design / development / manufacture. Candidate who has experience for project management are preferred.Required qualifications and skillsStudied in either mathematics, applied physics, battery research, energy storage, material science, mechanical engineering, chemistry, electrochemistry, or any related field; Master degree is required and Ph.D degree is preferred. Interdisciplinary background in electrochemistry and data analysis / machine learning is preferred.Expertise in mathematical modeling of the electrochemical behavior of electrochemical cells using PDEs or systems of ODEs.Knowledge of data analysis, feature engineering and machine learning algorithms. Algorithm background of Physics Awared / Informed Neural Network or Long Short-Term Memory is preferred.Proficient in at least one major compiled programming language like Python, Matlab, or C++.Fluent in written and spoken English as working language.
