WHY YOU SHOULD APPLY

We are now looking for a Senior Backend Developer to develop critical backend services for our monetization initiatives. As a Backend Developer in the team, you'll get to make concrete changes in the app and the payment side of the product. You'll get a chance to shape how critical projects turn out, from prototyping through A/B testing to new feature releases. You won't be just implementing tickets, but taking part in the whole process.

Most importantly, you'll have a unique opportunity to profoundly impact the lives of hundreds of millions of future musicians worldwide and re‑imagine the way music education works.

WHAT YOU WILL DO

As a Backend Developer at Yousician, your day‑to‑day responsibilities will include:

• Designing and implementing new features, ensuring robustness and maintainability and scalability.
• Build and maintain the server‑side logic, databases, and APIs that power monetization features like subscriptions.
• Ensure the monetization backend is scalable, fast, and reliable, handling high volumes of transactions and user requests without performance degradation.
• Establish and advocate for best coding practices, driving improvements in code quality and system architecture.
• Own complex troubleshooting and debugging efforts, proactively identifying and resolving performance bottlenecks
• Conduct and mentor others in code reviews , fostering a high standard of engineering excellence.
• Collaborate closely with cross‑functional teams to drive architectural decisions and long‑term technical strategy.
• Guide and support junior developers, sharing knowledge and best practices.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

• Strong experience in backend development
• Advanced proficiency in Python 3 and backend frameworks like Flask or FastAPI .
• Deep experience with REST‑based API development and database technologies (MongoDB, SQL ).
• Strong cloud experience, with expertise in deploying scalable applications on cloud platforms.
• You have been working with payment solutions (integrations, mobile payments, etc.) Example : “Stripe or Ayden”.
• Experience with monetization strategies, including Apple Store and Google App Store integrations.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills , ensuring smooth teamwork in an agile, cross‑functional environment

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience with unit testing and test‑driven development (TDD) , preferably using Pytest or similar frameworks.
• Familiarity with Unity and the ability to read app code.
• Experience with serialization frameworks like Pydantic.
