Overview
Senior Data Engineer / Data Engineer, Public at Pinja Group. Full-time position with options for 100% remote, hybrid, or work from various Pinja offices in Finland. The role focuses on data warehousing, data integration, and analytics for public-sector clients.
Responsibilities
- Lead and architect complex data solutions as a Senior Data Engineer, and mentor other team members.
- As a Data Engineer, utilize cloud-based data integration and orchestration tools to meet clients’ analytics needs, collaborating with the team and customers to define data significance through integration, transformation, aggregation, and visualization.
- Shape the role to match your skills and preferences, with possible emphasis on modeling, automation, or data integration.
- Work with Microsoft technologies as a common technical denominator, especially Microsoft Fabric (primary platform), Azure data tools (Data Factory, Synapse, Data Lake), MS SQL Server tools (e.g., SSIS), and Power BI for reporting; experience with Databricks is valued.
What is needed to succeed
Experience in public sector data initiatives in a technical role on data-driven projects.2+ years of relevant Data Engineer / data warehouse development experience.Strong experience with cloud-based data integration / orchestration tools (preferably Microsoft Azure), SQL, and Python.Experience with ETL / ELT processes and building data pipelines.Understanding of data modeling.Good communication and collaboration skills to work with your team and clients, and willingness to help others.Organizational skills and ability to manage your own timeline.Senior level expectations
Strong practical experience with Microsoft Fabric and / or Databricks; ability to build and optimize data pipelines and leverage these platforms.Experience with Data Lake solutions.Ability to resolve complex technical challenges and mentor teammates.Willingness to share knowledge and act as a mentor for less experienced colleagues.Certifications are a plus, but demonstrated skills and project experience are more important.Benefits and work environment
