Working as a Site Engineer at GXO Logistics – Hamina, Finland
The Site Engineer will play a critical role in driving continuous improvement, innovation implementation, and productivity enhancements within our 3PL logistics operations at our site in Hamina. This position requires a candidate with strong project management and presentation skills, a logistics engineering degree, and a mindset focused on innovation and productivity improvement. Knowledge of AutoCAD is highly desirable. Fluency in English, and Finnish is advantageous.
What you do on a typical day – Site Engineer
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and reduce costs.
- Lead and manage logistics engineering projects from conception through completion, ensuring adherence to timelines and budgets.
- Conduct detailed analysis of logistics processes, identifying bottlenecks and proposing innovative solutions.
- Develop and deliver presentations to communicate project updates, findings, and recommendations to stakeholders.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement new technologies and automation solutions.
- Utilize AutoCAD for design and layout planning of warehouse and logistics facilities (if applicable).
- Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and track progress of improvement initiatives.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and innovation within the logistics team.
What you need to succeed at GXO – Site Engineer
Bachelor\'s degree in Logistics Engineering or related field.Proven experience in project management within a logistics environment.Strong presentation and communication skills.Demonstrated ability to analyse processes and identify areas for improvement.A mindset focused on continuous improvement and innovation.Proficiency in data analysis and reporting.Fluent in English; Finnish would be advantageous.Preferred qualifications
Knowledge of AutoCAD for design and layout planning.Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) and other logistics technologies.Certifications in project management / LEAN or related areas.Job skills
