About the role

As a R&D Senior Engineer, you will be responsible for the overall design and technical development of electric motors and propulsion-related electrical systems for ABB’s marine solutions. You will participate in both new development and modernization projects, working closely with multidisciplinary teams. Your role involves leading electrical design activities, ensuring system-level integrity, and supporting the integration of complex powertrain components.

• Creating system-level electrical concepts and detailed technical specifications
• Designing and reviewing electrical schematics and layouts (e.g., using EPLAN ProPanel)
• Ensuring compliance with marine electrical standards and ABB internal guidelines
• Coordinating electrical interfaces between motors, drives, cooling systems, and automation
• Supporting testing, commissioning, and documentation of the electrical systems
• Contributing to design reviews and participating in technical decision-making
