Hochschulrechenzentrum (HRZ) - We are the IT competence and service center of Justus Liebig University Giessen (JLU). Whether data processing, infrastructure or telecommunications supply - we enable around 26,500 students and 5,700 employees to advance science and research for society every day. This makes us the technical nervous system of the university - you too can become a part of it.

Your environment

The HRZ enables tomorrow's discoveries with today's IT - join us in the "Service" team. Here you will become part of our IT service structure and work in a customer-oriented manner. As part of our first-level support, you will advise our users by phone, email and in direct discussions and promote the further development of services in administration, research and teaching.

Your tasks at a glance

  • User support by telephone, e-mail and direct contact
  • User account and authorization management
  • Collaboration in the university's central print service

Your qualifications and skills

  • Completed vocational training in the IT sector or comparable vocational training
  • Good knowledge of common hardware (PCs, notebooks, printers, tablets and smartphones) and their operating systems such as Windows, MacOS, Linux, iOS, Android
  • Good knowledge of issue tracking systems
  • Basic knowledge of standard application software (MS Office, e-mail clients, web browsers) and IT services (e-mail, web, file & print services)
  • Basic knowledge of network technology
  • Analytical thinking and results-oriented way of working
  • High service orientation, very good communication skills, especially in target group-oriented communication
  • Willingness to undergo continuous further training and ability to work in a team
  • Very good German and good written and spoken English language skills
  • Class B driving license
  • Willingness to work in alternating shifts
