Background
The Computational Bioenergetics Group at the Department of Physics focuses on the structure and mechanism of proteins involved in biological energy (ATP) generation and mitochondrial function. The group employs multi-scale computational approaches, including molecular dynamics simulations, quantum chemistry, and machine learning, in collaboration with experimental teams in Finland and abroad. Position Details
We seek a talented postdoctoral researcher who has recently completed a doctoral degree in computational biophysics. The successful candidate will work on the structure and mechanism of respiratory complexes and their interactions with lipid / solvent environments, utilizing approaches such as classical MD, quantum chemical methods, and hybrid techniques. Knowledge of relevant software packages and experience with ML / AI methods applied to MD data are highly advantageous. The position offers opportunities to attend international conferences and present research findings.
Research Environment
The group is affiliated with the HiLIFE Institute of Biotechnology and collaborates extensively within the department and with high-performance computing resources provided by the Center for Scientific Computing, Finland. The research environment is vibrant and well-equipped.
