We are seeking a Principal Camera Systems Engineer to lead and drive innovation in advanced camera systems for our products. The ideal candidate will be a technology leader with extensive experience in camera sensors, optics and image processing, capable of steering complex projects from concept to mass production while mentoring teams and shaping our technological roadmap.

Key job responsibilities

  • Spearhead the definition and execution of strategic studies for next-generation camera optics, sensors, actuators, image processing (ISP and NN), video compression, and respective system design.
  • Provide high-level technical leadership across multiple cross-functional teams, ensuring seamless integration of camera hardware into products.
  • Establish and manage relationships with key offshore manufacturing partners, overseeing camera design evaluation, product prototype builds, and qualification processes.
  • Direct system level failure analysis efforts and implement innovative corrective actions to optimize system design, assembly processes, testing, and calibration.
  • Lead advanced parametric-data analysis initiatives for end-of-line yield and post-reliability failures, driving continuous improvement.
  • Guide the evaluation and debugging of camera hardware at module and product levels, setting standards for Design and Integration.
  • Spearhead research into emerging optical technologies, providing strategic guidance for future R&D roadmap planning and resolving complex hardware technology challenges.
  • Architect revolutionary imaging systems and champion the development of advanced manufacturing-oriented design and simulation platforms.
  • Deliver analysis and industry insights on camera, imaging, light source designs, and optical sensing to inform executive decision-making.
  • Cultivate and expand high-level industry-academic relationships to support long-term R&D initiatives and maintain the company's technological edge.
  • Mentor and develop junior engineers, fostering a culture of innovation and technical excellence.
  • Participate in strategic planning sessions with executive leadership to align technological capabilities with business objectives.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • MSc or PhD in a relevant field with extensive experience in camera technologies and related electronics industry.
  • Proven track record of leading large-scale, multi-functional teams through complex R&D projects from concept to mass production.
  • Exceptional strategic vision and execution, with the demonstrated ability to define long-term technological directions, balance short-term needs with long-term goals, and prioritize technical initiatives to maximize impact and efficiency.
  • Proven track record of translating strategic insights into actionable plans that drive innovation and business growth.
  • Communication and leadership skills, capable of influencing at all levels of the organization and with external partners.
  • Demonstrated history of successfully delivering innovative products into mass production, consistently meeting or exceeding yield and efficiency targets
  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

    Mastery in at least 5 of the following :

  • Specifying camera system requirements based on product requirements.
  • Image sensor characterization methods and analysis.
  • Innovation in compact module manufacturing processes.
  • Advanced failure analysis techniques and interpretation.
  • Leadership in root-cause analysis and implementation of systemic corrective actions.
  • Mastery of statistical analysis, data reporting, and visualization for large-scale manufacturing operations.
  • In detail understanding of roles and responsibilities of imaging system components (ISP+FW+NPU).
  • Experience on designing modern ISP architecture.
  • Power consumption vs image quality tradeoff on ISP and FW level.
  • Proven track record of productizing 3A+ and ISP control algorithms.
  • Experience on ISP and SoC selection and camera requirements definition for future platforms
  • Detailed understanding of end customer image quality requirements and skill to judge images subjectively.
  • Mastering electronic circuit and system design, including power and signal integrity optimization.
  • Expert-level understanding of geometric optics and image quality evaluation techniques.
  • Athermalization techniques for optical systems.
